Jakarta Provincial Government is going to implement the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system in 2015.
I hope the ERP system could be implemented next year
According to Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, M Akbar, the construction of ERP gates has been started in corridor I on Jalan Sudirman and Jalan HR Rasuna Said with two different companies. His department is also currently preparing documents for the selection of vendors or suppliers who will build the system.
“
I hope the ERP system could be implemented next year ,” said Akbar in a public dialogue titled ‘Measuring the Effectiveness of ERP Implementation in Parsing Traffic Congestion in Jakarta’ which held at a hotel in Central Jakarta, Tuesday (6/3).Basuki Wants 3 Companies to Test ERP System in JakartaIn that occasion, Akbar stated that Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Rasuna Said already have a Minimum Service Standards (SPM) with the existence of mass transportation like TransJakarta bus, which is the basic capital for implementing ERP system. The next step is only adding up the amount of buses and re-sterilizing the lanes.
Moreover, Jakarta Transportation Department will formulate policies for bus procurement by cooperating with autobus companies. Thus, the procurement would no longer use the City Budget (APBD).
“Corridor I is relatively sterile, but it should be re-sterilized, which is not a difficult thing. As for the amount of buses, it will still be added by cooperating with autobus companies. Hopefully the presence of new buses next year could be realized soon,” he uttered.
